Coastal footpath
From La Villa l’Arche, the coastal footpath provides 54 kilometers of grandiose panoramas, crossing through ancient corsair towns along the Basque Coast.
From Bidart to Saint-Jean-de-Luz (3h30)
The first part of the coastal footpath serves many different kinds of places: beaches, creeks and small roads.
The arrival at the Sainte-Barbe top, the point of view of all the Saint-Jean-de-Luz bay, is exceptional. For advice… To do at low tide time.
From Saint-Jean-de-Luz to Hendaye (3h)
The second part of the coastal footpath, provides wonderful panoramas crossing Ciboure port to Hendaye’s one. The route follows a small cornice between road and cliff. Once crossing the preserved Abbadia domain, the route is coming to and end along the beautiful Hendaye’s beach and on the Txingudi’s bay.
From Hondarribia to Pasaia (7h)
A beautiful crossing by the ocean. A start on the shore until the Cabo Bioznar, cradled by the waves breaking on the cliffs, then a progressive climbing to the Jaizkibel’s balcony, in turning the back on the ocean temporarily. Next, you’ll follow a road between sea and mountain before the extraordinary downhill on the Pasaia’s bay.
From Pasaia to San Sebastian (3h)
A short walk but full of different kinds of landscapes… On the top of Pasaia, from the Plata lighthouse to the bucolic wooded balcony above the ocean, until the Ulia cliffs, finishing by the magical Donostia’s bay… Strong feelings guaranteed.
